Pros:
It's quick, easy to use and there's loads of ammunition to be found. You can also move when firing.
Cons:
There's a limited range and this weapon can have little effect on bosses or the tougher enemies.
Recommended For:
Mumblers, Air Screamers. |

Shotgun
Location:

Pros:
There's plenty of ammo around for this weapon. Even though it's more powerful
than the handgun, you can still move when firing - use it point-blank and it can
be devastating.
Cons:
It takes longer to load and you're restricted to 6 bullet magazines. It's wise to avoid quick-moving bosses.
Recommended For:
Mumblers - particularly when you're surrounded by them. |

 |
Small Axe
Location:
Hidden altar inside 'Green Lion'.
Pros:
It inflicts more damage - and is easier and lighter to use - than the Pipe. The Axe is also useful for smashing rusted locks.
Cons:
You need to get close to enemies to inflict damage. Avoid using this weapon if surrounded by many enemies.
Recommended For:
Mumblers and Larva Stalkers. |

Hyper Blaster
tm
(only available on your third time through the game after gaining UFO ending)
Location:
It's in your inventory at the start of the game.
Pros:
No ammo is required and it has a long range, automatic aim, which means you rarely
miss your target. The auto-aim will also sight enemies in the dark - and even through walls.
Cons:
The more you use it, the lower your score at the end of the game - and it's not quite powerful enough for bosses.
